Common Vision-Related Symptoms

Do you (or does your child):

• Dislike Reading?
• Have frequent headaches or complain of eyes hurting, burning, or itching after prolonged near work such as reading or using a computer?
• Have to stop after only a brief period of near work because of eye discomfort?
• Cover one eye while reading?
• Have blurry or double vision?
• Often have red or irritated eyes?

American Optometric Association Recommendations for Eye and Vision Care

• Infants (birth to 24 months of age) - initial evaluation by optometrist
• Preschool (ages 2 to 5) - at least one more evaluation before entering school
• School age (ages 5 to 18) - annual evaluations by optometrist
• Adult (over age 18) - evaluations at least every two years
